Special thanks to Eric Lingenfelder and Easterlygal who sent me this link a couple of weeks ago in the midst of all the Vans hubbub. Great article in the Washington Post titled
Melanoma Rates Increase Among Younger Women.
The battle continues. But we'll be like Ghandi and be all zen about the battle so as to promote peace without melanoma.

Lori,
Thanks for the shout out about the article. I live in NC and so many folks here worship the sun, it is frustrating to see people gamble with their lives. But once they have access to the information, it is their decision to make. Much like smoking, driving drunk, and dating Britney Spears. ;-) Thanks for spreading the love. Take care and keep on truckin'!

Since melanoma has come into my family’s life, we have been blessed by people like Miss Melanoma, and so many others willing to help and share their experiences and knowledge. I believe that the sharing of information, knowledge and experiences will help everyone fight this battle. Thank you to all that contribute! Eric Lingenfelder
My friend - check this out - it was on the front page of Yahoo this morning

Peace without melanoma, Nam Myo Ho Renge kyo . . . Peace without melanoma . . . In the early 70s I used to attend buddhist meetings and chant for the peace of the world. I still use the above chant (nam myo ho renge kyo) when I need to calm down as well as hey God if you're listening I'm really pissed off. I think I need a little work on the zen state. Peace without melanoma, Nam Myo Ho Renge kyo . . . Peace without melanoma . . .
Your blog is amazing! I've had a lot going on recently so I'm back to try and catch up.
Some of your posts got me thinking about my son again. He is working for his dad outdoors. I raised him to wear sunscreen but I know he won't do it now (he's 18 and invincible). I wish I knew how to get through to him.
If you have any ideas, give me a shout.
Super Fab hair by the way.
I think I will just go buy him some sunscreen and drop it off to him. He does wear a t shirt and a hat, so that's a start.
